FIK's original Plateau + Candleholder is a playful yet elegant design element. In our design process, the vibrant 60s found a prominent place. The result: colourful design where sustainability and original compositions are key.

Each Plateau + Candlestick is handmade by us in our own workshop. This way, we give each one the attention it deserves. To create the plateau's natural stone-like texture, we use dried coffee grounds from our neighbours the coffee roaster Bosbrand in Apeldoorn.

Use the plateau side to combine with a unique FIK Sculpture Candle and the stylishly coloured candleholder side with a decorative FIK Dinner candle.

Each handmade object is unique. Small imperfections and differences in texture may occur as a result.

  • Sustainable choices

We believe it is important to use packaging made from recyclable materials for our candles. For example, materials that are easily biodegradable, can be included in an organized recycling process, or materials that you can also reuse at home, such as our glass jars.


When the scented candle has burned out, you can use the glass jar again to plant small cuttings or as a storage jar for small parts. Use some warm water and a degreasing dish soap to remove any remaining rapeseed wax and labels for reuse.

With a view to sustainability, we pack the scented candles as compactly as possible for shipping. In principle, we ship all the candles you order together in one box. Would you like to give (part of) your order as a gift? Then you can tick this next to the article. We will then ensure that we pack it separately and that there are no shipping labels on this box.


If you cannot use the shipping box again, it can be disposed of in its entirety with the waste paper - without filling chips. The following also applies to the biodegradable filling chips: Reuse is great! But if you cannot use them again, they can be thrown in the organic waste.

At FIK Kaarsen we do not see "sustainability" as a trendy marketing concept or some kind of green tick that you can request somewhere. We believe it is important to use sustainability as a condition and basis for a young company. We want to make the right considerations and good choices for the candle making process, packaging and shipping.


We are therefore critical of our raw materials. For example, we do not simply assume that 100% natural is always the most sustainable choice and that less harmful raw materials are also good for both people and the environment.
